Do you know someone who suffers from depression or anxiety? Do you want to do something about it? If so, you may just want to take a look at Rachel’s Runners who are raising $10,000 for Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to increase awareness and understanding of anxiety and depression in Australia and to reduce the associated stigma.
Did you know 1 in 5 women in Australia will experience depression and 1 in 3 will have anxiety during their lifetime. For men, 1 in 8 will experience depression and 1 in 5 men will experience anxiety. The good news is that, just like a physical illness, depression and anxiety can be treated.
Rachel’s Runners, a social Sydney based running group started in February 2013 by Rachel Allworth, are raising money to help make a difference for those suffering from depression and anxiety. Rachel’s inspiration to start Rachel's Runners started after she completed the Michelle Bridges 12WBT program where she lost over 20kgs! That’s right 20kgs! Rachel even taught herself how to run. Rachel found that:
All of a sudden I was good at something, just like that! I didn’t set out to be a runner, I just wanted to lose a bit of weight & get fit. Get myself healthy enough to keep up with my kids!
Rachel’s transformation is remarkable and demonstrates if you focus on a goal, work towards it then anything is possible. Rachel’s running knowledge is impressive and she continues to inspire many women to get out there and have a go at 5, 10 and 21 (half marathon) kilometre runs. With over 60 regular runners (many of whom are mums) Rachel’s Runners is a testament to their vision:
Dream, Believe, Achieve

This is my 3rd 2XU Performance Visor. I have them in 2 other colours. I like the elastic band much better than the valcro adjustable band. However, I needed to shorten the elastic as it was still too big for me.
Socks good though if you like thickish socks.
These were an odd size. I always buy xs/s but these were not usual sizing. As for injinji toe socks, providing the sizing is right, they are my only choice for running and long days of walking
Really the best socks around. Wonderful customer support.
